KTM RC390 R limited edition announced- With SSP300 race kit, it costs Rs 17 lakhs

The KTM RC390 has been the Austrian two-wheeler brand’s preferred weapon of choice to prepare young racers for the world of motorsports. The race-spec version of the fully faired compact sportsbike has been used in several one make racing championships.

The introduction of SuperSport 300 WSBK championship in 2017 has further boosted the prospects of the race-ready RC390 and the company has come up with a limited edition homologated KTM RC390 R sportsbike which features exclusive visual and performance enhancing bits.

Slated to have a limited production run of 500 units, the RC390 R will be equipped with fully adjustable front and rear WP suspension system, foldable CNC-machined brake and clutch levers, new handlebars for sportier riding stance, special engine tuning, and of course, exclusive body graphics. The limited edition motorcycle is priced at 8,500 euros (around INR 6.71 lakhs).

If that is not exclusive enough, one can even specify their RC390 R with SSP300 performance kit of which only 50 units will be available. It includes 230 individual parts including an Akrapovic SSP300EVO02 exhaust system, STM slipper clutch, race ECU, an array of gear ratio options, extra pair of wheels, quick shifter, and a range of light weight components.

The SSP300 race kit retails at 11,500 euros (around INR 9.98 lakhs) in addition to the limited edition motorcycle’s base price! The fully kitted RC390 R SSP300 makes your steed race legal under the SSP300 FIM class. This means, the RC390 R with SSP300 race kit will cost you in the region of Rs 17 lakhs, excluding import duty and taxes.

Sadly, this new kit is only compatible with the RC390 R. It is not compatible with the standard RC 390. KTM will built only 50 kits a year. It is not clear if any of the limited edition motorcycles are making their way to India.
