Lamborghini Huracan Performante roars into 2017 Geneva Motor Show
The latest in line of Huracán variants is Lamborghini Huracán Performante which made its presence felt at 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
Unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show premiere is the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. This model was in the news last week. It set a new record on the Nurburgring Track in Germany when it outpaced the previous record holder Porsche 918 Sypder by 5 seconds and the Lamborghini Aventador SV by 7 seconds. Yes. Lamborghini Huracan Performante is the new king of Nurburgring, claiming a lap time of 6:52:01.
Lamborghini Huracan Performante comes in powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine as is seen on the other Huracan models. However, performance has been tweaked to now offer 640 PS peak power and 600 Nm peak torque.
This augmentation of power now allows the Performante to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and from 0 to 200 kmph in 8.9 seconds even as top speed is the same at just over 325 kmph. The engine is mated to a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. Electromechanical power steering and ESC also enhance performance along with new and improved air intakes, redesigned exhaust, new titanium valves and fluid dynamics and overall weight is also reduced by 40 kgs.
Interiors boast of a new digital cockpit, selectable driving modes that include Strada, Sport and Corsa while Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity is also on offer. The cabin is done up in dark colored Alcantara fabric with forged composite air vents, paddle shifters and door handles while each unit of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante can also be customized according to buyer’s preferences as a part of Lamborghini Ad Personam Program.
Set to go on sale by this summer, Lamborghini Huracan Performante has been priced at $274,390 / €195,040 / £173,271/ ¥ 31,638,800 / INR 1,82,84,663.
