Jaguar Land Rover India opened bookings of the new Land Rover Discover Sport on 10th August. Today, JLR India revealed that they have received tremendous response as bookings have crossed the 200 units mark.
To come in as a CKD, the Land Rover Discover Sport will be assembled at the company plant near Pune, Maharashtra, while prices are expected to be around INR 45 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi).
Pegged as the world’s most versatile compact SUV, Land Rover Discover Sport receives a flexible seating arrangement with 5+2 seating configuration. Dimensions will stand at 4,599 mm in length, 2,173 mm in width, 1,724 mm in height while it will sit on a wheelbase of 2,741 mm with ground clearance of 212 mm.
Land Rover Discover Sport receives a host of features and on board safety equipment that includes cruise control, daytime running lights, advanced park assist, remote anti theft alarm system, 4 wheel ABS, daytime running lights, rear view camera, dual zone climate controls and electro chromatic inside rear view mirror. The upcoming SUV also sports AM/FM stereo, USB connectivity and Bluetooth wireless data links.
In India, it will be launched only in top HSE spec which will be powered by a 2.2 liter diesel engine. This option will be followed by an Ingenium diesel engine option. These will be mated to 9 speed automatic transmission.
On launch in India, Land Rover Discover Sport will compete with BMW X3, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and soon to be launched Mercedes Benz GLE.
