Jaguar Land Rover India has introduced the new Land Rover Discover with a 2 liter diesel engine in the country. Priced from Rs.75.18 lakhs, this new Discovery, offered in S, SE, HSE & HSE Luxury trims. It gets powered by a 2.0 liter Ingenium diesel engine offering 177 kW (240 PS) power and 500 Nm torque.
What is a highlight of this new engine is that it is the first Jaguar Land Rover engine to get series sequential turbo technology for added thrust. Apart from this diesel engine, the Land Rover Discovery is also available with a 3 liter petrol engine (335 PS / 450 Nm), with prices ranging from Rs 77 lakhs to Rs 90 lakhs.
It also gets 3 liter diesel engine (255 PS / 600 Nm). Price of variants with this engine option ranges from Rs 88 lakhs to Rs 1.1 cr. All prices are ex-sh. With prices of 2 liter diesel variant starting from Rs 75.18 lakh, this brings down the entry price point of diesel powered LR Discovery by a whopping Rs 14 lakhs.
Order books have opened for the Jaguar Land Rover Discover 2 liter diesel in India. The company claims that it embodies the spirit of the company’s “Never Stop Discovering” and offers outstanding features that set this model apart. This new diesel engine option will make the Discovery even more attractive to buyers, especially considering its competitive pricing.

Boasting of a well proportioned exterior with clean lines and a dynamic silhouette, the Land Rover Discovery also gets a full size 7 seater cabin packing state of the art driver and passenger comforts and safety features. It gets power adjustable seats, intelligent seat fold, powered third row seats and a panoramic sunroof. Its interiors also boast of 4 zone climate control, cabin air ionization. Safety features include surround camera, adaptive cruise control and a host of advanced driver assistance systems which include autonomous emergency braking and lane keeping assist.
The Discovery diesel gets the latest in technology and best in class approach angle at 34 degrees, ramp angle at 27.5 degrees and departure angle at 30 degrees. It also possesses water wading capacity of 900mm and 3.5 tonnes of towing capacity.
Besides the Land Rover Discovery, the company portfolio also includes the Discovery Sport priced from Rs.44.68 lakhs, the Range Rover Evoque priced from Rs.52.06 lakhs and the Discovery priced from Rs.75.18 lakhs. It is also the Velar, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover that are on offer in the country, each of which are priced from Rs.72.47 lakhs, Rs.103.74 lakhs and Rs.181.86 lakhs respectively. Each of these models are sold via the company’s 26 authorized dealerships spread across major cities over the country.
