Land Rover has joined hands with British consumer electronics major Bullitt Group to launch a range of smartphones and accessories. The first of the products can be expected to be released in early 2017.
Talking about the development, Lindsay Weaver, director of Licensing and Branded Goods at Jaguar Land Rover, said:
Incorporating iconic Land Rover design and innovative technology into the mobile phone sector with Bullitt Group presents an exciting challenge and fantastic opportunity to take the brand into a new dimension.
She also added that an engineering and design team from Land Rover Special Operations division will be assigned to the partnership and will play an active role in delivering a number of bespoke products tailored to Land Rover product values. The Land Rover team will focus on the design aspects of the lineup of smartphones and accessories.
The products are expected to be positioned in such a way to target the existing and new Land Rover owners. If the idea is successful, we could also see Jaguar following a similar route.
Bullitt’s track record includes making custom devices for big brands like JCB, Caterpillar and Ministry of Sound. The devices for Land Rover will focus and toughness and ruggedness.
