Mahindra dispatched 1,762 units of Marazzo last month – Even before official launch

Mahindra Marazzo MPV definitely created a lot of buzz with its unique, shark-inspired design and premium features. This buzz has also translated into numbers. In spite of being launched on 3rd September, thanks to huge demand and high booking numbers, Mahindra had already dispatched 1,762 units to their dealers in August 2018. The number is expected to grow exponentially this month.

In the same month, Marazzo’s primary rivals in the MPV segment – which are Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Ertiga, dispatched 6,680 units and 3,515 units respectively. This month, Sep 2018, Mahindra Marazzo sales could overtake Maruti Ertiga, for two reasons. One, Marazzo has good pending orders, second – Maruti will launch new Ertiga next month (October). So Maruti will reduce production of existing Ertiga in order to start producing new Ertiga.

Mahindra Marazzo has been strategically positioned between Crysta and Ertiga to draw consumers from both ends of the spectrum. Marazzo is slightly smaller in comparison to Crysta and with a price range of Rs 9.99 lakh to 13.9 lakh, it works out as a cheaper alternative to Crysta.

Marazzo can also grab Ertiga’s customers by offering them an affordable way to upgrade to something bigger and more stylish and luxurious. Marazzo comes with a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that delivers max power of 121 bhp and max torque of 300Nm. This again is placed between the engine configuration of Crysta and Ertiga.

Longer than Maruti Ertiga.

Designed on a body-on-ladder chassis, Marazzo is being offered in 7-seat and 8-seat configuration. A new innovation in Marazzo is its front-wheel drive layout, featuring an engine that’s transversely (east-west) mounted and integrated with a ladder frame chassis.

Marazzo is available in four trims – M2, M4, M6 and M8. Security features include dual air bags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Marazzo’s top-end variant offers premium features such as touchscreen infotainment system, roof mounted AC vents, captain seats with individual arm rests, and LED projector headlamps.
