Mahindra KUV100 launch price INR 4.42 lakh (Photos and Video)

The extensively tested Mahindra KUV100 mini SUVhas been launched at a starting price of INR 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom). Production of the car has commenced at the company’s Chakan plant near Pune while deliveries start from today itself.

The company’s second compact SUV, KUV100 features a compact footprint to take complete advantage of the sub-4m norm. The design is charaterized by a bold front fascia with wraparound headlamps (with LED DRLs), slot-like grille, sporty bumper, tall stance, sheet metal with accentuated crease lines, hidden rear door handles, angular taillights and black rear bumper.

Inside, the new dual-tone beige-black dashboard (with glossy black) houses a multifunction steering wheel, sporty instrument console and a huge centre console with audio system, vertically stacked AC control knobs and gear lever. This arrangement makes for a wider front passenger seat.

Power comes from new mFalcon family of 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, both mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An AMT will be offered at a later stage. The petrol motor puts out 82 Bhp and 114 Nm of torque. The oil burner develops 77 bhp and 190 Nm of torque.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency of the diesel KUV100 is claimed at INR 25.32 kmpl, while that of the petrol KUV100 is claimed at 18.15 kmpl.

Seats

Mahindra KUV100 will be available in two seating options 2+3 and 3+3.

Colours

Mahindra KUV100 will be offered in a choice of 7 colour options. These are – Fiery Orange, Flamboyant Red, Dazzling Silver, Aquamarine, Pearl White, Designer Grey and Midnight Black.

Safety, Features and Technology

Mahindra KUV100 will be offered with ABS and EBD as standard across all variants, while dual airbags are on offer as option. Built with ultra high strength steel over a monocoque construction, other safety features include automatic hazard lights on panic braking, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and dual rear fog lamps.

Apart from this, KUV100 also gets LED DRLs, 6 speaker infotainment system with Bluetooth, Handsfree, USB and AUX. It also gets steernging mounted controls, Mahindra Blue Sense App, start/stop system, Power / ECO mode, and digital engine.immobilizer.

Competition

At the launch event, Mahindra showed a few slides where they focused on Maruti Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti DZire. This is enough to reveal at what segment Mahindra is aiming to compete with the new KUV100.
