Slated for launch in January 2016, Mahindra KUV100 is set to make debut on the 18th of this month. It will be the first ever Mahindra SUV that will be powered by a petrol engine. (KUV stands for Kompact Utility Vehicle).
Mahindra KUV100 (codename S101) will be the second product from the company to be based on the all new monocoque platform. To be offered in petrol and diesel engine options, Mahindra KUV100 will receive new 1.2 liter three cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Both these will be mated to a manual 5 speed transmission, while the option of AMT is also expected to be on offer.
Spied testing on a number of occasions, the Mahindra KUV100 sports a a tall body design with spacious cabin as legroom and headroom is not compromised. The 6 (3+3) seater KUV100 also gets strong shoulder lines and large doors with horizontal creases thus making the vehicle appear longer than it actually is.

Interiors of the KUV100 feature a 3+3 layout, similar to what is already seen on the Datsun Go and Datsun Go+. This means that the gear lever is mounted on the dashboard. Apart from this, interiors also feature infotainment system with small display, central console with integrated rectangular air condition vents, steering wheel with audio controls.
Mahindra KUV100 will be positioned below the new TUV300 compact SUV in the company line-up. Price range of Mahindra KUV100 is expected to be from INR 4-6.5 lakh. Once launched, it will compete with the likes of upcoming Maruti YBA and Tata Nexon.
