The Mahindra Mojo ABS has been confirmed by the company on the sidelines of the regular variant’s launch in October. A test mule with makeshift ABS brake circuit, and testing equipment has been spied up close, indicating that the team is on track to introduce the new variant in the coming months.
It’s reported that the ABS kit for the Mojo would be sourced from Continental and as we can see in the picture it is going to be a dual-channel unit (the makeshift equipment is connected to the rear brake too). We expect Mahindra to test the prototype extensively in the coming days.
The 300 cc tourer is equipped with braking system from J.Juan comprising single disc at each wheel. During our test ride, we found the braking performance to be adequate but the rear wheel tends to lock quite easily. The dual-channel ABS would help eradicate that problem. We expect the kerb weight to increase by 2-3 kg due to the additional components on board.
The Mahindra Mojo is powered by a 300 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which generates 28 PS and 30 Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the bike can put in long stints of effortless cruising.
