As part of the update, Mahindra has installed foam paddings, covering a large cavity beside its drain hole in their newer Scorpio N sunroof
Mahindra Scorpio N has been the talk of the town ever since video of its sunroof leaking went viral. In the video, we can see the Mahindra Scorpio N’s interior getting soaked in water when brought under a (relatively) high-pressure waterfall. In a reply, Mahindra recreated this scenario with another Scorpio N, where there was no seepage.
2023 Scorpio N Sunroof Updated – Gets Added Padding
Before getting into this matter, we have to take a look at the main recipients in this saga. At one place, we have a Scorpio N owner who faced water leakage via the sunroof. At another, we have Mahindra. As per the owner water leaked through the sunroof, while as per Mahindra there is no such issue with Scorpio N.
Now, in a new video posted by YouTuber Yash9W, Mahindra seems to have made certain updates to their vehicles manufactured after this incident. These new updates come in the form of paddings Mahindra is using to fill some major crevices beside drain holes of its sunroof mechanism.
Looking at the new foam pad, Mahindra might have done it so as to avoid collection of leaves and twigs hindering sunroof operation. This foam pad can’t fix any leaks on itself. If there was a leak, it can only be fixed with better quality rubber seals that manufacturers use.
Water is water, and can seep into a vehicle’s cabin through improper seals used in its sunroof. Human interference with these sunroofs can also lead to loosening of said seals and due to improper barriers, water can seep in. We’re talking about people standing out of the sunroof for reasons best known to them and along the way, sabotaging their seals.
2023 Mahindra Scorpio N BS6 Phase 2 Upgrade
Mahindra has updated the Scorpio N. Apart from getting extra padding in the sunroof, the new models also get updated BS6 phase 2 compliant engines. These are said to be more refined than before. Power and torque output remains the same as before.
In welcome news, Mahindra has finally started production of other variants of Scorpio N. The company had focused initially on manufacturing only the top of the line Z8L variants. Soon deliveries of all other variants – Z2, Z4, Z6 and Z8 will start across India.
