Mahindra Scorpio, Thar Price Hike Up To Rs 67k – BS6 P2 Update

Price hikes for Mahindra Scorpio and Thar make them a wee bit dearer to buyers than they used to be as part of BS6.2 RDE norms upgrade

Following Phase II of BS6 emission standards, all manufacturers are making their portfolios meet RDE norms and E20 compatibility. Mahindra has done the same too and is associated with a price hike. In the earlier post, we discussed the new prices of XUV700 and XUV300, which are increased by up to Rs 75,000. In this post, we will cover price hikes associated with Mahindra Scorpio N, Scorpio Classic and Thar.

Mahindra Thar Price Hike April 2023

New Thar base petrol LX AT 2WD HT receives no changes in its pricing. The Rs. 13,49,000 is carried over. Rest of the petrol variants with 4WD get a price hike of Rs. 28,200.

Thar 4WD gets a price hike of Rs. 28,200 across the range for diesel variants. In effect, Thar diesel 4WD prices now start from Rs. 14,44,100 as opposed to Rs. 14,15,900 before the price hike. There seem to be new variants with Thar diesel 4WD with a hard top, mentioned as OD.

With just 3 variants, Scorpio Classic has S and S11 trim levels. 7 seater S trim gets a price hike of Rs. 35,701 and the 9-seater has been hiked by Rs. 41,600. S11 trim gets a hike of Rs. 67,100. In effect, Prices for Scorpio Classic S now range between Rs. 12,99,901 and 13,25,801. Scorpio N, however, gets a ton of variants with combinations of petrol, diesel, 2WD, 4WD, 6-seater, 7-seater and 8-seater options.

With diesel engines, base Z2 trim is hiked by Rs. 31,301. Z4 MT, Z6 MT, Z4 AT, Z6 AT, and Z8 MT get a similar price hike of Rs. 41,300 (variance up to Rs. 2). 4WD variant of Z4 MT gets hiked by Rs. 56,300 and a Rs. 51,300 hike is observed with 4WD variants of Z8 MT and Z8 AT. Both 7-seater and 6-seater variants of Z8L MT and Z8 L AT get hiked by Rs. 46,300 along with 4WD variants of Z8L MT and Z8L AT.

Lastly, we have the Z8 AT variant with a price hike of Rs. 36,300. All in all, Mahindra Scorpio N diesel variants now start from Rs. 13,55,502 as opposed to 13,24,201 from last month. Taking a look at petrol variants, base Z2 MT is now hiked by Rs. 31,299. A hike of Rs. 41,300 is observed with Z4 MT, Z4 AT and Z8 MT variants.

Z8 AT is the only variant to get Rs. 36,300 price hike and both 6-seater and 7-seater variants of Z8L MT and Z8L AT get the same hike of Rs. 46,300. Mahindra Scorpio N petrol variants now start from Rs. 13,05,500 as opposed to 12,74,201 from last month.

Note: All prices mentioned are in ex-sh, and will take effect on vehicles manufactured from 1st of April.
