Mahindra and Tata Motors sales report for November 2015

Sales of Mahindra and Mahindra during November 2015 saw a sharp increase. The company reported a 21% increase in sales to the tune of 41,590 units as compared to 34,292 units sold in November 2014.

Domestic sales increased 23% from 32,100 units sold in November 2014 to 39,383 units sold in November 2015 with medium and heavy commercial vehicles registering a 75% increase in growth.

Sales of passenger vehicles which included the Scorpio, XUV 500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, stood at 19,662 units as compared to 14,473 units sold in November 2014 registering growth of 36%. Exports of Mahindra and Mahindra also surged 28%. This increase in sales could be attributed to the festive season besides the launch of new products.

The company now looks forward to the launch of new XUV100 compact SUV, which was spied undisguised during a TVC shoot earlier today.

Speaking about Tata Motors, their sales during November 2015 which included passenger and commercial vehicles stood at 38,918 units. This was a 7% decrease as compared to 41,720 units sold in November 2014. On the domestic front, Tata Motors sales of both commercial and passenger vehicles were at 35,345 units, down 6% as compared to 37,427 units sold in November 2014.

Taking only passenger vehicle sales into account, sales during November 2015 stood at 10,517 units, down 13% as against 12,021 units sold in November 2014. While the compact car segment witnessed growth of 33% at 5,821 units in November 2015 as against 4,376 units sold in November 2014, UV sales declined sharply by 22% to just 1,345 units in the past month.

Tata Motors M&HCV sales saw an increase of 21% to 11,524 units in November 2015 as compared to sales in November 2014 while Light and Small commercial vehicle sales declined 16%, impacting overall commercial vehicle sales in domestic markets which stood at 24,828 units in November 2015. Exports also suffered a setback during November 2015 with 3,573 units exported during the month as against 4,293 units exported in November 2014.

The company now looks forward to the launch of new Zica small car, which will be launched next month in India.
