Mahindra XUV300 AMT

Mahindra XUV300 has been well received in the Indian market. Launched in February 14, 2019, the company reveals that it has received over 26,000 bookings in the past two and half months. The most bookings have been for the top of the line variant with petrol variants being more in demand accounting for 2,477 units or 40 percent of sales over the February-March 2019 period.

Mahindra XUV300 is powered by two engine options. These include a 1.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine borrowed from the Mahindra Marazzo, offering 115 PS power and 300 Nm torque and a 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine capable of 110 PS power and 200 Nm torque both of which get mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. Though there is no automatic variant offered as on date, the company will soon introduce an AMT variant, the same which has now been detailed by Youtube channel AutoTrend TV.

Mahindra XUV300 is priced from Rs.7.90 lakhs for the base variant going up to Rs.11.99 lakhs for the top of the line variant. XUV300, the sub-4 meter SUV is available in a choice of four variants – W4, W6, W8 and W8(O) and two engine options. It comes in with several segment first features among which are 7 airbags, dual zone climate control, heated ORVMs and front and rear parking sensors with camera.

AMT variant will be on offer with petrol as well as diesel engine option. It is based on the W6 trim, which is currently priced at Rs 8.75 lakhs for petrol and Rs 9.3 lakhs for diesel. Expect price of the AMT variant to be about Rs 50k higher. All prices are ex-sh.

Mahindra XUV300 is one of the most feature-rich car in the segment. It is also seen with LED tail lamps, tyre pressure monitoring system, power windows and safety features such as ABS with EBD, ESP, hill start assist and hill descent control, all four disc brakes and steering modes offered as standard. A unique feature on the Mahindra XUV300 is the option to adjust steering weight. It gets absorbent suspension mode allowing for optimum performance even on rough surfaces.

Color options include 6 monotone colors of Red Rage, Aqua Marine, Sunburst Orange, Pearl White, Napoli Black and D-Sat Silver. There are two dual tone color options of White Roof on Red Rage and Aqua Marine (only on W8 optional pack).

Mahindra XUV300 rivals the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon – all come with either AMT or automatic option with atleast one engine option. With just manual option, XUV300 has manage to become the 2nd best selling car in the segment for the last two months. But with the launch of Hyundai Venue, and Ford planning to cut prices of EcoSport by up to Rs 50k, sales of Mahindra XUV300 might start to decline. Here is where AMT variants will help company maintain sales target, which was originally aimed at about 6,000 to 8,000 units when the company had launched the car in Feb 2019.
