The Mahindra XUV500 facelift which went on sale in India earlier this year has been introduced in Italy. The mid-size crossover receives a nip and tuck both outside and inside in addition to comprehensive equipment upgrade.
For the Italian market, the XUV500 facelift is available in two variants – W6 and W8. The SUV can be had either in FWD or AWD configuration. Standard safety equipment include front, side, chest and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, ISOFIX mounts, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.
The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox continues to power the India-made crossover. The motor puts out 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. It has a rated fuel economy of 15.3 kmpl. An automatic transmission for the diesel engine, and a new petrol engine for the international markets are being developed.
The fully loaded XUV500 W8 for the European market is packed with a touchscreen infotainment system with GPS Navigation, reverse parking camera, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in, automatic climate control, 8-way electrically adjustable driver seat, puddle lamps with projection of XUV500 logo, 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, static cornering lamps, cooled glove box and so on.
Visually, the front fascia receives revised grille, headlamp detailing, bumper with new chrome embellished foglamp enclosure, sunroof and an additional chrome applique on the tailgate. The interior gets new dashboard color theme, seat fabrics and a tweaked centre console.

The Mahindra XUV500 facelift is priced from 19,527 to 25,466 euros (around INR 13.74 lakhs to 18.01 lakhs) in Italy. The car is exported from India as a CBU.
