Some key changes include new C-shaped headlights, snazzy LED DRLs, an updated grille that’s more upright, restyled bonnet, and distinctive shoulder line. Other updates include new alloy wheel design, tail lights, bumpers and tailgate. XUV700 will have flush-mounted levers for the door handles, which compliment the SUV’s sporty profile.

Talking about dimensions, XUV700 will be larger than its predecessor. It will be wider and come with a longer wheelbase. These enhancements have been made possible by carrying out the required changes on the chassis. The updated chassis will also be stiffer. It will provide a range of benefits such as better control, improved response, superior ride experience and reduced vibrations. Being larger, XUV700 will have more cabin space for all including second and third row passengers.

Mahindra XUV700 new features

Offering new features has shown to fetch better results in the Indian car market. We have already seen that with products such as Venue, Seltos, and new-gen Creta. With that in mind, Mahindra has equipped XUV700 with a comprehensive range of features. One of the key highlights is the dual screen layout, something similar to the setup used on specific Mercedes cars.

Segment-first features include Level 2 Autonomous Driving Assist Systems (ADAS), which will be available with higher trims of XUV700. ADAS will support functions such as lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control. Other expected features include panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes, electronic parking brake, automatic climate control, and hill hold. The SUV will be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations.

Mahindra XUV700 powertrain options

XUV700 will borrow its engines from new-gen Thar. The only difference will be that the engines will be tuned to delivery more power to support XUV700’s larger proportions. The 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk diesel motor is expected to make 185 hp on XUV700. Similarly, the 2.0-litre, four- cylinder, turbo-petrol motor is expected to deliver 190 hp. Transmission options for both engines will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic unit from Aisin.
