Mankame EP-1 concept claims 500 kms on single charge at funding stage

Mankame EP-1 concept is the brainchild of engineers to create an electric superbike that compares with 600-650 cc motorbikes with internal combustion (IC) engines in terms of performance. Top speed is pegged at 250 km/h, and the bike aims to go 500+ kms (480 Kilometers at 70 Km/h on the highway and 500 – 550 Km in city riding with Active Regenerative braking) on a single charge.

With efforts to present a modern combination of fast acceleration and aerodynamic bodywork, it would run on a liquid cooled 18.4 KWh Battery-Pack comprised of high density Samsung cells with a dedicated Matrix BMS system to monitor and control individual cells to optimise safety and efficiency. Lithium ion batteries and cells used are rated at 800 cycles with considerations to prevent cell overload that reduces battery life.

An Aramid Kevlar reinforced Belt drive system connects to a 40KW high performance PMSM Motor for 180nm at the shaft; and 432nm at the wheel for reduced noise and optimised torque-jerk tolerance. Dual 320mm front and 245 mm rear disk brakes with brembo calipers, reinforced with dual-channel intelligent ABS, and traction control with Machine Learning. Mankame EP-1 concept is proposed to be built in Dharwad. The two seater is capable of handling 2 passengers of a combined weight of 160 kg (360 lbs).
