Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the largest carmaker in India registered total sales to the tune of 1,11,333 in December 2015. Up 13.5% as compared to 98,109 units sold in December 2014, 6 of the company’s models continued to feature on the top 10 list in the past month.
As per data received from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Maruti Suzuki Alto, WagonR, Swift, Dzire Baleno, Celerio featured on the Top 10 list for December 2015 with sales of Alto amounting to 22,589 units and featuring at the top of this list.
In No. 2 spot was the Maruti Suzuki WagonR with sales of 14,645 units in December 2015 as against sales of 12,329 units in December 2014. Maruti Suzuki Swift continued at No.3 spot even though sales dipped from 17,410 units sold in December 2014 to 14,548 units in during the past month while Maruti Suzuki DZire sales also decreased from 15,526 units sold in December 2014 to 13,176 units sold in December 2015. The recently introduced Maruti Suzuki Baleno entered the list at No. 6 with sales of 10,572 units, taking the place of Hyundai Elite i20 and pushing it to the seventh position.
Maruti Baleno bookings have crossed 70,000 while that of Renault Kwid have crossed 90,000.
Apart from Maruti Suzuki, cars from other brands which features in the list were – Hyundai Grand i10, Hyundai Elite i20, Mahindra Bolero and Renault Kwid. Surprisingly, Hyundai Creta has not featured on the list. Below is the list of top 10 cars sold in Dec 2015.
