Maruti Suzuki India Limited has increased production operations where the Vitara Brezza is concerned. This follows increased production which grew over 10% during the period April-October 2018 to 94,000 units, as compared to production in the same period of 2017. This boost in production will significantly bring down waiting period and allow for faster deliveries to customers.
In terms of increased demand, it was found that the Maruti Vitara Brezza Auto Gear Shift variant was in higher demand at 49% in Mumbai and 39% in Delhi. Other top-end variants Z and Z+ contributed to 61% of total sales of the Vitara Brezza.
Last month Maruti Brezza clocked over 15,000 unit sales, which was also its highest monthly sales ever. This also helped, Brezza to overtake the market leader Hyundai Creta in overall sales figures since respective launches. The Brezza currently commands a 4-6 week waiting period and hence the company has ramped up production to 10,000 units per month.
Maruti Brezza is produced from the company plant in Gujarat which has full capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum. In the 2017-18 period, the company sold 1.48 lakh units of the Vitara Brezza while in the 7 month period April to October 2018, sales have surged past 95,000 units.
Maruti Brezza was launched in March 2016. It has achieved the fastest 3 lakh sales mark in its segment in just 28 months. It has found acceptance by customers and regaled for its performance and features. This highest selling SUV is priced at Rs 7-10 lakhs and its success has enabled Maruti Suzuki to overtake Mahindra as India’s leading SUV maker.
The Made-in-India Maruti Brezza had recently scored a 4 star safety rating in Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash test. It achieved a 2 star rating in child protection and provided good protection for a 3 year old child dummy while it secured 4 stars in adult occupant protection. The report claims that it gets a sturdy body structure that absorbs most of the damage to the front end while A pillars remained unaffected. In terms of safety features, the Vitara Brezza also gets dual airbags, anti lock braking system and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
