Maruti Suzuki India registered total domestic sales of 139,121 units for the month of Oct 2019. This when compared to Oct 2018 sales, is a 2.33% sales growth. This is the first time the company has posted sales growth in over 6 months.
Boosting sales for Maruti Suzuki in Oct 2019 was the festive period of Diwali, as well as huge discounts which were offered by dealers. Here is a look at how all Maruti Suzuki cars performed in sales for last month.
At the top of the chart is Maruti Dzire, registering sales of 19,569 units. This number is even higher than what Dzire registered in Oct 2018. YoY growth stands at about 12% while MoM growth stands at about 25%.
On the second spot is Maruti Swift, which registered sales of 19,401 units, which is about 170 units less than the top selling Dzire in Oct 2019. Maruti Swift sales too have grown by 12% YoY, while MoM, sales have grown by a staggering 50%.
Finishing the top 3 spot is Maruti’s most affordable range – Alto. Total sales registered by Maruti Alto 800 and the Alto K10 in Oct 2019 stands at 17,903 units. This is a 19% decline YoY, but a 19% increase MoM.
On the 4th spot for MSIL is Baleno with 16,237 units sold in Oct 2019. Sales of Baleno declined by 13% when compared with Oct 2018 sales. WagonR on 5th spot, also registered a sales decline. Both Baleno and WagonR were updated earlier this year.
On the 6th spot is new entrant. Launched on 30th Sep, Maruti S-Presso has climbed the ranks not only in Maruti’s sales chart, but also in India’ car sales chart for Oct 2019. For Maruti, S-Presso is their 6th best selling car, while it is the 8th best selling car in India for Oct 2019.
Maruti Brezza has moved to the 7th spot, with 10,227 units sold in Oct 2019. This is a decline of 35% YoY. On the 8th spot is Maruti Eeco, which registered sales of 10,011 units. This is a 49% increase in sales YoY.
Top 8 cars for Maruti featured in the top 10 selling cars of India list in Oct 2019. Together, these 8 Maruti cars registered sales of over 1.18 lakh units in the month. Next in line was Ertiga, XL6, Celerio, Ciaz, Ignis and S-Cross. Sales total of these 6 cars for the month was 20,780 units, which is an increase from 20,109 units that the same cars registered in Oct 2018.
