2018 Maruti Ertiga has arrived at dealerships. Booking have already opened. Though the exact number of bookings is not officially revealed, it is expected to be over 10,000. This has resulted in dealers already quoting a waiting period for the new Ertiga.

A few dealers we spoke to, said that waiting period is in the region of 2 to 4 weeks. One dealer even said that they are expecting huge rush at the dealership on the launch day, ie today.

New Maruti Ertiga is underpinned by the same Suzuki Heartact platform, which is also seen on the Swift hatchback and Dzire sedan. This new platform has allowed the engineers to make the Ertiga longer and wider than before. This means, the car will offer more space on the inside.

Passengers on 2nd and 3rd row will now have more shoulder room, head room and leg room. Both rows will also get reclining seats. The windows are larger than before, giving the passengers a much improved cabin experience.

Speaking about convenience – apart from the 4 AC vents in the front, you also get roof mounted AC vent at the rear. Mobile charger point is on offer for all three rows, and so are cup holders. In the front, there is a touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Bluetooth, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The system is also the display for rear camera, and converts to parking assist when needed.

Powering the new Maruti Ertiga is a 1.5 liter petrol engine which delivers 104 PS and 138 Nm. Transmission is via 4 speed auto and 5 speed manual. Mileage claimed is 18 kmpl. Diesel Ertiga is powered by a 1.3 liter engine which delivers 90 PS and 200 Nm via 5 speed MT. Mileage is 25 kmpl. Price of new Ertiga are expected to be in the region of Rs 6.5 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs.
