Maruti Suzuki is a trusted name in the Indian automotive market, providing customers with affordable and reliable cars for decades. The company’s latest offering is the highly anticipated Jimny 5-Door. It was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, where it generated a lot of buzz among car enthusiasts.

Pre-launch bookings opened on Jan 12, 2023. It has been well received and has over 23,500 bookings even as prices are yet to be announced. The SUV is now making its way to NEXA dealerships across the country in a phase-wise manner. Let’s take a closer look at this Jimny Nexa Display schedule.
Phase-wise Launch in Dealerships – Maruti Suzuki is showcasing the new Jimny 5-door in select cities across the country from March 26-April 7, 2023. In the first phase, the new Jimny is on display at 30 dealerships in 9 cities, including Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Mohali, Ludhiana, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. However, it is only open for view, and test drives will commence at a later stage. Display units will be making an entry into other cities in the next phase.
The Practical Jimny: Why the 5-Door Model is the Smart Choice
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door is the latest addition to the company’s SUV lineup. The 5-door model is more practical than its 3-door counterpart, with added doors that ensure better access to rear seats. It also offers more cabin and boot space. Jimny is positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara and is being offered in two variants: Zeta and Alpha.
Design and Dimensions of the Jimny – Built on a ladder on frame chassis, Jimny drives ahead on Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive (4WD) system as standard. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is longer and wider than the 3-Door model. It has a length of 3,985mm, a width of 1,645 mm, and a height of 1,720 mm. The 5-Door model also has a longer wheelbase of 2,590 mm, which provides more space in the cabin. However, the 5-door is only larger than the 3-door in its length and wheelbase by 340mm respectively. Jimny boot space is at 208 litres.
Interior Layout, New Tech – Jimny interior have a four-seater layout, with a 9-inch touchscreen display unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a 4-speaker sound system. Driver and passenger comforts include automatic climate control and cruise control, while safety is via a total of 6 airbags, electronic stability program, hill hold and hill descent and brake assist. It also gets a rearview camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and ABS and EBD.
Comfort and safety features – The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is expected to come with a host of comfort and safety features. The SUV is expected to come with features such as air conditioning, power windows, touchscreen infotainment, keyless entry, automatic climate control, LED headlights, and a sunroof. The safety features are expected to include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and a rearview camera.
Engine Lineup, Prices of Jimny
Maruti Jimny 5-door will be powered by a 1.5-liter K15B DualJet petrol engine that offers 103 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 134 Nm torque at 4,400 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed torque converter. Power is sent to all wheels via Maruti’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system.
