Maruti Baleno was best-selling model not only in the company lineup but was the No.1 selling passenger vehicle in the month of Feb 2023
Maruti Suzuki sales in Feb 2023 grew on a YoY basis by 10 percent while MoM sales remained flat. The country’s largest automaker sold 1,47,467 units in Feb 2023, a 10 percent YoY growth from 1,33,948 units sold in Feb 2022. In Jan 2023 there had been 1,47,348 units sold relating to a volume growth of just 119 units. Market share stood at 44.1 percent, down 0.1 percent as against 44.2 percent held in Feb 2022.
Maruti Sales Breakup Feb 2023 – Baleno at No. 1
Maruti Baleno and Brezza were the only two models in the company lineup to post YoY and MoM growth. Baleno premium hatchback was at no. 1 with sales of 18,592 units, up 48 percent YoY from 12,570 units sold in Feb 2022. MoM sales increased by 14 percent from 16,357 units sold in Jan 2023. The Baleno also stood at the top of the list in total PV sales in Feb 2023.
At No 2, the Swift saw sales of 18,412 units in Feb 2023, down 4 percent YoY when compared to 19,202 units sold in Feb 2022. MoM sales increased 12 percent over 16,440 units sold in Jan 2023. The company is offering hefty discounts on the Swift and other models sold via Nexa and Arena showrooms through March 2023.
Maruti Alto sales saw a 57 percent YoY growth to 18,114 units in Feb 2023 while MoM sales dipped by 15 percent from 21,411 units sold in Jan 2023. WagonR also saw a 15 percent YoY growth but dipped on a MoM basis by 17 percent with 16,889 units sold during the past month.
Last to be in Maruti’s top 5 cars, is the DZire sedan. Sales dipped 4 percent YoY to 16,798 units in Feb 2023 but improved by 48 percent MoM from 11,317 units sold in Jan 2023. Top 5 cars from Maruti account for 60% of the total sales in Feb 2023, almost 89k units. Remaining 9 cars sales were about 58k units.
Grand Vitara Sales Cross 9k
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was the only model on the list, other than the Baleno, to post YoY and MoM growth in sales. Sales increased 71 percent YoY to 15,787 units in Feb 2023 from 9,256 units sold in Feb 2022. MoM sales were higher by 10 percent from 14,359 units sold in Jan 2023.
Sales improved by 24 percent YoY for the Maruti Eeco van to 11,352 units in Feb 2023 from 9,190 units sold in Feb 2022 while MoM sales dipped by 3 percent from 11,709 units sold in Jan 2023. There were also 9,183 units of the Grand Vitara sold last month, a 6 percent MoM growth from 8,662 units sold in Jan 2023 while Ertiga sales fell 44 percent YoY and 34 percent MoM to 6,472 units in Feb 2023.
Maruti Suzuki also sold 4,749 units of the Ignis, 4,458 units of the Celerio, 3,761 units of the S-Presso and 2,108 units of the XL6 during the past month along with 792 units of the Ciaz.
