Maruti Smartplay infotainment system receives map update
The Maruti Smartplay infotainment system which is found in the higher variants of the Baleno, Ciaz, Maruti Vitara Brezza and S-Cross has received a map update. The company has floated microsite for the customers to download the update to the system’s SD card via PC.
The microsite asks for the customer details such as name, email id and the vehicle’s VIN number. The site also carries detailed instructions on how to download and update the maps using a PC. The process involves checking the old map’s version, deleting the existing map files and extracting the newly downloaded Zip folder to the memory card.
Maruti has not talked about the kind of improvements the updated map files bring in but one can expect up to date routes and a few additional features. Once you insert the SD car back in its slot, you are good to go.
