Maruti Super Carry launched in Ahmedabad, will be launched across India in phases

Entry into the LCV segment with Super Carry by Maruti Suzuki is being done in a phased manner. The first phase will see the LCV being launched in Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Haryana and Rajasthan. Price in Ahmedabad starts from INR 4.03 lakh.

The company will judge buyers response to these new Light Commercial Vehicles after which launch in other states will be undertaken. Maruti Suzuki India Limited enters a segment which to date has been dominated by automakers such as Tata Motors and Mahindra.

Maruti Suzuki Super Carry LCVs are being produced at the company plant in Gurgaon while the new plant in Gujarat will also see increased capacities when it gets operational in the last quarter of this fiscal.

Maruti LCVs are designed especially for Indian buyers and will be sold through exclusive dealerships called ‘Maruti Commercial’ – much in the same way as NEXA operates. 50 dealerships will be appointed in the five states where the new Super Carry LCVs go on sale.

Maruti Super Carry is the joint development of Maruti Suzuki and SMC. It has been developed through outstanding R&D capabilities and technical prowess at an investment of around INR 300 crores.

Super Carry is offered in two color preferences of Superior White and Silky Silver. It is powered by a 793cc diesel engine offering 24 kW power at 3,500 rpm and 75 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm. It is capable of mileage of 22.07 kmpl, a top speed of 80 kmph and is ideally suited for commercial operations with carrying load of 740 kgs and loading deck of 3.25 sq mtrs.
