Maruti Suzuki Baleno Delta trim without alloys and LED spied

To compete with Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, and Honda Jazz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been spotted at a dealer yard ahead of launch on 26th October. Devoid of any camouflage, several exterior updates were noted.

Seen here in a bright shade of Autumn Orange, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be offered in seven other exterior color options. The model in spy shots is the Delta variant and not the base or top end variant. The Base Sigma variant does not get rear wiper, while this one is seen with a rear wiper.

The one in the spy shots is the Delta trim, which sits above the base Sigma trim.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be offered in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. It will sport a host of comfort, convenience and entertainment features. While safety features include airbags, ABS, EBD and reverse parking sensor, infotainment is from a 7” SmartPlay infotainment system.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno also gets Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and automatic climate control. It measures 3,995mm in length, 1,745mm in width and 1,500mm in height. It will sit on a wheelbase measuring 2,520mm while ground clearance stands at 180mm, while boot capacity is at 355 liters.

As seen with Maruti S-Cross, the Baleno will also be devoid of Maruti badging.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno will receive petrol and diesel engine options, same as the one’s seen on Maruti Swift. The petrol engine is a 1.2 liter K Series capable of 84PS power and 115 NM torque. The 1.3 liter DDiS diesel engine will offer 75 PS power and 190 Nm torque. Both options are mated to a 5 speed manual as standard, while petrol engine will also get CVT.

The Baleno will get a 110 PS 1.0 liter Boosterjet turbo petrol engine in Europe, which could make its way to India some time at a later date.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be on sale exclusively at the company’s exclusive NEXA dealerships as was see with the S-Cross. Pricing is expected in the INR 5.5-9 lakh range.
