(Maruti) Suzuki Ignis Motocross Style Edition unveiled in Tokyo
At the ongoing Tokyo Auto Salon, the new Maruti Suzuki Ignis has been given a style update. Called Motocross Style Edition, the Ignis here is seen in a new motocross livery. The Maruti Ignis Motocross Style Edition gets Yellow paint finish on most of the exterior. It is also seen with black, white as well as red paint, as seen on the decals.
It gets offroad tyres with matte brown 6 spoke alloys, red brake calipers, new exhaust, recaro sport seats, roll cage, yellow accents on the inside, black matte finish on the roof, metal pedals, and so on. Have a look at the images below.
Last week, Maruti Suzuki India launched the much awaited Ignis compact premium hatch in India. The car was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo last year, in the form of a near-production concept. The small car rivals the likes of Mahindra KUV100.
In India, the new Maruti Ignis is powered by the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines. Both options are offered with AMT as well as manual transmission.
The Ignis adopts a fresh design language which is characterized by tall stance, boxy front fascia with prominent headlamps, an angular greenhouse, and a wedge-shaped rear fascia. Inside, a simple vertically bifurcated dual-tone dashboard sports a touchscreen infotainment system and a new steering wheel.
In India, Maruti Ignis joins the Baleno and S-Cross as the third member of the Nexa lineup. This indicates a premium positioning and a rich equipment list. Priced below the Vitara Brezza, the Ignis attempts to lure prospective buyers from the B-segment hatchbacks.
