A mildly accessorized Suzuki Karimun Wagon R is on display alongside the regular variant at the ongoing 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The Wagon R is a LCGC small car which targets buyers who are on a budget.
The Karimun Wagon R is essentially the Wagon R Stingray that is on sale in India. The accessorized variant sports front bumper extensions, side skirts, wing mirror housings with integrated LED blinkers, rear spoiler with brake light, branded door sills, chrome finished muffler, and a sportier rear bumper with reflectors.
Rest of the items like projector headlamps, chrome secondary airdam slats, chrome bezel for foglight enclosures, projector headlamps and multispoke alloy wheels are identical to that of the regular variant. Inside, both models feature an identical plain black dashboard with silver accents.
The Karimun Wagon R is powered by the same 1.0-litre K10B three-cylinder that does duty onboard the India-spec Wagon R. The motor has 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque. The small car is available with an option of 5-speed manual and an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
Suzuki Indonesia is currently working on a extended version of the Wagon R with a 3-row seat to compete with the likes of Datsun Go+ Panca and the newly introduced Daihatsu Sigra.
