Maruti XL6 bookings open at NEXA for Rs 11,000 – Launch on 21st Aug

Targeted primarily at fleet, tour and taxi operators, Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be launched in India on August 21. A premium version of Ertiga, XL6 will take on rivals such as Mahindra Marazzo.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be offered in 2+2+2 seating configuration, with the middle row featuring 2 pilot seats instead of the bench seat. This will make the ride more comfortable for middle row passengers. The middle pilot seats will probably be used by the most important people traveling in the MPV.

Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, “At Maruti Suzuki, we have always focused on bringing out products that match the customers’ demand. The XL6 is an exclusive 6-seater premium MPV, designed to meet the aspirations of evolved and discerning NEXA customers.

With XL6, we bring NEXA’s first premium MPV, which is high on comfort and convenience along with an array of safety features. The XL6 will further strengthen our NEXA products portfolio and provide our customers with a range of products from hatchbacks, Sedan, SUV and now a premium MPV at NEXA. We hope our customers enjoy the experience of our latest offering.”

Maruti XL6 features a new grille with dual chrome slats, redesigned bumper, angular headlamps, stylish body cladding, blacked out elements, black C and D pillars, wing mirrors, edgy tail lamps, roof rails and new alloy wheel design. XL6 comes with full LED headlamps, which not only enhances the car’s visual appeal but will also offer improved visibility at night.

XL6 will not be offering the 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, as are available with Ertiga. These diesel engines are currently BS-IV compliant. XL6 will come with only the 1.5-litre K15B Smart Hybrid BS-VI compliant petrol engine that generates max power of 105 hp @ 6,000 rpm and max torque of 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. Engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Automatic is also on offer. This engine can also be seen on current Ertiga and Ciaz.

Maruti says, “XL6 will carve a dominating position in MPV segment with its imposing bold stance beautifully accentuated by its signature quad chamber LED headlamps. Upscale detailing on its front grille and interiors strengthens its NEXA DNA. Exquisite features like 2nd row plush captain seats, SmartPlay Studio with seamless smartphone connectivity, cruise control & many more, the XL6 has been conceptualized considering the modern customer in mind who craves for style, space and sophistication. “
