Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe and AMG GT R are priced at Rs.1.33 crores and Rs.2.48 crores respectively
Mercedes Benz India has for the first time conducted a digital launch. The AMG C 63 Coupe and the AMG GT R have been digitally launched in India today. The event was held at the company’s Centre of Excellence in Chakan, Pune; which was webcasted to media via live feed. The country, being in the midst of a lockdown in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, is the reason for launch is being conducted in this manner.
Mercedes AMG C 63 Coupe is the flagship model in the C-Class segment. It receives feature updates and will be seen with a Panamericana radiator grille with vertical chrome slats which is seen across the AMG range.
Other design updates include bug eyed headlamps, LED DRLs, a revised bonnet, new front bumper and larger air intakes while it sits on 5 spoke forged alloy wheels. Interiors have also receives some updates with a new digital instrument cluster and an updated Mercedes-Benz MBUX infotainment system.
This coupe is powered by a 4.0 liter, bi-turbo V8 engine offering 476 PS power and 650 Nm torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in a matter of 4 seconds while top speed is limited to 250 kmph. Power is sent to rear wheels via a 9 speed automatic gearbox. It gets AMG Ride Control sports suspension and AMG performance exhaust system along with AMG rear axle locking differentials.
The Mercedes AMG GT-R, a performance oriented sports car also receives design changes with a new front bumper with canards on either ends to augment aerodynamics. It gets a central air dam while rear wing design has also been revised. Redesigned headlamps and a Panamericana radiator grille are also a part of these design updates. Interiors see a new steering wheel and 12.3” digital instrument cluster. It sits on 19/20” AMG forged alloy wheels and gets an AMG ceramic high performance composite braking system.
Engine specifications on the Mercedes AMG GT-R includes a 4.0 liter, twin turbo V8 engine that also powers the C 63 AMG. This engine offers 585 PS power and 750 Nm torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 3.6 seconds while top speed stands at 318 kmph. It also receives AMG Ride Control suspension and AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G Transmission.
Where pricing is concerned, the Mercedes AMG C63 coupe is priced at Rs.1.33 crores. It will compete with the BMW M4. Mercedes AMG GT-R on the other hand will take on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and comes in priced at around Rs.2.48 crores. This pricing ex-sh India, except Kerala.
