Mercedes-Benz India and BMW India sales growth for Jan-Sep 2017

Through the year, new BMW 5 Series has registered YTD sales growth of 38% for 2017. BMW India sales during the period January to September 2017 grew at 17.3%, with 7,138 units sold. Last year, the company sold 7,861 cars.

Mercedes-Benz India reports its best 3rd quarter sales. Mercedes-Benz India registered 41% growth for July-Sep 2017 with 4698 units sold up from 3327 units sold in July-Sept 2016. For January-September, the company registered 11869 units sold, up 19.6% (January-September 2016: 9924 units).

For April- June 2017 (Q2) quarter, Mercedes Benz India reported 3521 units sold, up from 2975 units sold in April-June 2016. January-March 2017 (Q1) quarter sales was reported at 3650 units. H1 volumes stood at 7171 units, up 8.7% over January-June 2016 when 6597 units were sold. For June 2017, sales growth is reported at 40% over June 2016. Following GST implementation in before Cess adjustment in July 2017, Mercedes-Benz reported sales growth of 20.9% in July 2017.

In fact, Q1-Q3 2017 sales has already surpassed 2014 sales when 10,201 units were sold. Through 2017, the German automaker has already launched ten products with more launches planned. For the year, the Long Wheelbase E-Class is the highest selling model, followed closely by C-Class. Demand for the former continues to surpass supply even seven months since launch. In the growing SUV portfolio, GLC is the most sold SUV, followed by GLE.
