Mercedes Concept IAA teaser gives a peek into new design language

Mercedes Concept IAA

Mercedes Benz has dropped two new teasers of a completely new design concept, which will debut at Frankfurt Motor Show later today.

One of the world’s leading luxury car brands, Mercedes Benz is all set to give us a peek into their new design language; probably for a completely new range of cars of the future.

Apart from the two teasers, not much has been revealed about the car. Mercedes Benz says that their new four door coupe is a world champion in aerodynamics. They claim that Mercedes Concept IAA has a drag co-efficient of 0.19 cd, making it even more aerodynamic then their most aerodynamic car today, the CLA Class.

Considering that it is a four door coupe, and has a drag co-efficient of just 0.19; Concept IAA could be the brand’s Tesla Model S rival.

Of course, this is just a concept, it remains to be seen if the production spec variant remains as aerodynamic as the concept, if the car enters production that is.

Mercedes has not shared any technical details, neither have they said what will be powering the Concept IAA.

The design of this new concept is reportedly the work of Achim Badstübner, who was hired by the Stuttgart based manufacturer back in 2013. Achim previously headed Audi’s Design Studio in Munich. His work can be seen on the new A6 and A7.

More details about the Mercedes Concept IAA will be revealed soon, including official pictures. Till then, you can tell us what you think about the design (whatever is revealed) in the comments section below.
