Mercedes-Benz India has launched Sport Editions of the A Class, CLA and GLA models to celebrate the commencement of Euro 2016 football tournament. The limited edition models will be available up to July 10.
Targeting sports enthusiasts and young audience, the Sport Edition models come with Sport badges and sporty pedals. Rest of the package continues untouched.
The idea is to provide a sense of exclusivity without inflating the price tag extensively. Speaking of the price tags, the A 180 Sport retails at INR 29.95, A 200 d Sport at INR 26.95, CLA 200 Sport at INR 33.24 lakhs, CLA 220 d Sport at INR 34.25 lakhs, GLA 200 Sport at INR 34.32 lakhs, and GLA 200 d Sport at INR 35.36 lakhs (all prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Mercedes has opted to launch the Sport Editions across its MFA range to better connect with younger audiences. The A Class for India is being imported as CBU while the CLA and GLA are being assembled at the automaker’s Chakan plant out of CKD kits. The plant started its Phase-II operations last year and currently has an installed production capacity of 20,000 units per year.
