MG Hector sales Dec 2019

As 2019 comes to a close, MG Motor India ends on a thumping note. For a brand that wasn’t in business here, this time last year, it’s performance has been promising. The brand sells a solo vehicle, MG Hector as of now.

In December 2019, 3,021 MG Hector units were sold. Since July 2019, MG has reported total sales of 15,930 units. While sales units reported were lower in the starting months, MG is revamping production in order to meet growing demand. The brand will increase production on 2020 to facilitate faster deliveries.

Having showcased MG ZS EV, the electric vehicle will go on sale in January 2020. The company is kicked about its market reach. As a new-ish brand for India, and with one car on sale, response for Hector has been ‘encouraging’. In getting more bang for the buck, MG India has been making efforts in its customer engagement activities. With 150 centres across India, MG looks to increase that count to 250 by March 2020.

MG Hector is the company’s first offering in India. It is a mid size SUV that is produced at the MG Motor manufacturing unit in Gujarat. Its interiors receive a 7” coloyr MID, 10.4” HD touchscreen audio video navigation system and iSMART connectivity technology. To reach out to more customers, the company has just introduced a mobile showroom in the form of a 45 feet trailer. This will allow the company to take the MG Hector to new markets across the country and also to create more awareness of the brand while at the same time bring in more customers into their fold.

The company also recently drew attention to the new ZS EV which is poised for launch. Initially this electric vehicle will be launched in 5 cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Bookings will commence from 5th December while launch is scheduled for January 2020.
