MG Hector sales at 3,536 units in Oct 2019 – Highest till date

MG India revealed today that Hector sales for the month of Oct 2019 stood at 3,536 units. This is the highest monthly sales reported by Hector till date. Launched in July 2019, sales for July were 1,508 units. In Aug 2019 sales were 2,018 units. In Sep 2019 sales were 2,608 units.

Commenting on the sales performance, Rakesh Sidana, Director – Sales, MG Motor India, said, “MG HECTOR continues to further strengthen its position in its segment and win hearts of our customers. As we gradually ramp up our production, we aim to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction through timely vehicle deliveries.”

MG Motor India has re-opened its bookings on September 29, backed by its plans to ramp up production. With increased supplies from its global and local component suppliers, the company is starting second shift operations from November 2019.

MG Hector appeals to a younger and more adventurous segment of buyers in India due to its onboard connectivity and infotainment features. The Hector has now received its first ever over-the-air (OTA) software update. Its 10.4” HD touchscreen display for iSmart Infotainment only supported Android Auto at the time of launch, it now supports Apple CarPlay as well along with greater optimization for the Voice Assist.

Owners of the MG Hector do not need to take their vehicles to the service center for this software upgrade. The owners of the Smart and Sharp variants will receive notifications over their touchscreen display for downloading the latest software update. From now on, the MG Hector will come with this update while the 5G enabled SIM card embedded in to MG Hector allows internet connectivity allowing the owner to stay connected via a smartphone.

MG Hector gets its power via a 1.5 liter turbocharged intercooled petrol engine delivering 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox with an option of a 6 speed DCT. The hybrid option only gets a 6 speed manual gearbox. There is also a 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel mill capable of 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque mated with a 6 speed manual gearbox.

MG Hector is offered in Style, Super, Smart and Sharp variants and in color options of Aurora Silver, Candy White, Starry Black, Burgundy Red and Colored Glaze Red. It is priced from Rs.12.48-17.28 lakhs and competes with the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass.
