nanoFlowcell QUANTiNO claims 1,000 kms range, unveiled at Geneva
Joining QUANT E, are two new cars based on the Flow Battery technology. These are QUANT F and QUANTiNO, both on display at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. nanoFlowcell QUANTiNO claims to be the worlds first low-voltage vehicle.
Manufactured by nanoFlowcell AG, these cars are powered by a new system, known as Flow battery. Instead of charging the battery via conventional electricity ports, the batteries in nanoFlowcell cars are charged by the reaction of two chemical components, which are stored in dissolved state inside the car (fuel tanks).
Using this system, the new nanoFlowcell QUANTiNO battery is capable of generating of four times 25 kW (136 PS), which then powers the electric motors. This results in a top speed of 200 kmph. It receives two fuel tanks with capacities of 175 liters (to carry the dissolved chemical which will charge the battery) each with one carrying positive charge and the other negative charge. The important thing to be noted here, is that both these tanks are to be topped simultaneously. On full tanks, you will have a range of 1,000 kms!
Design wise, the nanoFlowcell QUANTiNO is just fantastic. This 2+2 seater measures 3.91 meters and sits on 22” wheels as is also seen on the QUANT E and QUANT F. Not much is known about the interiors, features, safety packages, but expect them to be revealed soon.
Still awaiting approval for road use, nanoFlowcell Quantino has generated a lot of interest amongst buyers in developed countries. But with the kind of backing, and promise this product has shown, it is hardly a matter of time before they enter production.
