In an attempt to more than double the monthly sales volumes of the Avenger from the current average of 3,643 units (so far this fiscal) to 9,000 units, Bajaj is readying three new variants of the cruiser. A recent media reports suggests that a new Bajaj Avenger 150 variant will be one of the three products to be launched under the refreshed nameplate.
The other two variants – Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 – have been spotted already. The base 150 cc model would help Bajaj gain access to wide audience base. Given that there is no cruiser in that displacement segment in the country, the new Avenger 150 could emerge as a strong seller.
No further details on the new base variant are available as of now but we suspect it to employ the Pulsar AS150‘s new single-cylinder air-cooled carbureted motor which generates an impressive 17 PS and 13 Nm of torque. Transmission would be a 5-speed unit.
The range topping Avenger Street 220 model, as the spyshots suggested, receives black alloy wheels and cycle parts. The Cruise 220 makes do with spoke wheels. With the three new Bajaj Avenger models, the company would be catering to customers with varied requirements and tastes.
