Bajaj Auto has confirmed that the new range of Avenger motorcycles will be launched in India on 27th October. There will be a total of three new Avenger variants on offer, these are – Bajaj Avenger 220 Street, Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise, and Bajaj Avenger 150.
Of the three, first two have already been spied in detail. As the name suggest, Cruise 220 is better suited for long rides, while the Street 220 is more of a City cruiser. We are not sure how exactly Bajaj plans to place the Avenger 150, but we expect it to be placed as an affordable cruiser for the commuter segment.
Speaking about the design updates seen on the new Avenger, Street 220 gets with revised handlebar design, new fuel tank and redesigned rear view mirrors, new seats with better cushioning and back support for pillion rider. It also gets a new instrument panel with analogue and digital meter.
Cruise 220 gets a matte black finish on the fuel tank, black alloys, black exhaust, black handle bar, black pillion back support and black rear view mirrors. It also gets the red and silver stripes as seen on the Bajaj Pulsar Demon Black Edition.
The new Bajaj Avenger 220 Street and 220 Cruise will be powered by the same 220cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled engine capable of 19.03 PS power at 8,400 rpm and 17.5 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm. The Avenger 150 on the other hand, is expected to be powered by the new 150 cc engine seen on board the Pulsar AS150. This engine is rated at 17 PS and 13 Nm via five speed gearbox.
Official details of all three bikes will be revealed on the 27th October. We expect the new Avengers to be priced in the INR 80k – 1 lakh range.
