New Ford Endeavour facelift spied in India – Mahindra Alturas SUV rival launch soon

2019 Ford Endeavour facelift has been spied on test in India for the first time ahead of its launch in early 2019. The spy shots clicked by Mr Gokul clearly show the exterior updates. These updates are similar to the facelifted Endy which is already launched in other countries like Australia and Thailand earlier this year.

New 2019 Endeavour exteriors will boast of a new triple slat front grille, HID headlamps, protruding fog lamp inserts on front bumper, 20” 6 spoke alloy wheels and a silver finished lower front part. It might also get the truss part which was missing strengthening part, which is on offer in Thai spec variants, but is missing on Endy’s sold in India.

The 7 seater Ford Endeavour facelift SUV will also see some interior changes – with optional ebony dark color and softer material for a more premium experience. It could also get a dual color interior theme in India, especially when a similar setup is seen in the Mahindra Alturas SUV.

New Endeavour will also be seen with passive keyless entry, push button start, a new touchscreen infotainment system with Ford SYNC 3 connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto besides integrated satellite navigation. In India, SYNC 3 will be offered from the Trend variant onwards.

In India, the current engine line up includes a 2.2 liter diesel engine offering 160 hp power and 38 Nm torque and a 3.2 liter diesel engine offering 200 hp power and 470 Nm torque. Both these engines are expected to be discontinued. As is seen in Thailand, India too could get the much advanced 2.0 liter diesel engine. This new engine is not only more powerful, but is also more fuel efficient.

In Thailand, this engine is available in two tunes – entry level Endy gets 180 PS and 420 Nm while top Endy variant gets 215 PS and 500 Nm. Transmission options include 6 speed manual as well as automatic. Expect the new engine to be BS6 compliant. Once launched, the new Ford Endeavour Facelift will compete with Toyota Fortuner and the soon to be launched Mahindra Alturas G4. Expect pricing to be in the Rs 25-30 lakhs range.
