The 2020 Hyundai Creta is being readied for launch in India. But ahead of that, the mid-sized SUV has now been officially launched in China. The base variant of Hyundai Creta in China is priced from 109,800 Yuan (Rs 11.11 lakhs), while the top of the line variant costs 150,800 Yuan (Rs 16 lakhs). In China, only petrol variant is on sale, diesel is not on offer.
2020 Hyundai Creta grows in dimensions as compared to its current counterpart. It now stands 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,622mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,610mm.
This makes the new Hyundai Creta 30mm longer, 10mm wider and 8mm shorter as compared to its current counterpart. Wheelbase has increased by 20mm resulting in better interior space and a larger boot. It will receive a new front grille, a panoramic sunroof, sharkfin antenna, split LED headlamps and 17” alloy wheels.
Interiors will be seen in a black and beige colour scheme. It features a compact steering wheel, horizontally positioned air vents, a large floating central display, fully digital instrument cluster with a twin segment screen and centrally positioned MID.
The dashboard is devoid of any buttons with all moved to the steering wheel. The touchscreen is powered by Hyundai BlueLink and offers voice commands as seen on the recently launched Hyundai Venue and the Hyundai Elantra in India.
The next gen Hyundai Creta will borrow its engine lineup from the Kia Seltos. The 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine will be capable of 115 bhp power and 144 Nm torque while the 1.4 liter, 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine will offer 140 bhp power and 242 Nm torque. The 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine will make 115 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. The engines will all be BS VI compliant at the time of launch. Transmission options on offer are 6 MT, 6 AT, 7 DCT, CVT.
2020 Hyundai Creta will make its presence felt at the upcoming Auto Expo in February. It will be the highlight of the Hyundai India stall during the auto show. Following its debut at Auto Expo in India, new 2020 Creta will be launched in the country. Prices are expected to range between Rs.10-16 lakhs.
Ahead of launch of new Creta, the current generation model is being offered at a massive discount and benefits to the tune of Rs.1 lakh. New Creta will rival the likes of Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, etc.
