New Honda Jazz automatic with CVT gearbox and paddle shifters spied

Honda Cars India Limited will be launching the new Jazz on 8th July 2015. But before that, First spyshots of the India-spec Honda Jazz automatic have emerged online.

Besides platform and dashboard design, Honda Jazz also shares a host of other features with City sedan, reveals the new spy shot above. These are touchscreen with Media NAV system, steering mounted controls, alloy wheels and power folding mirrors.

Where safety features are concerned, the new Jazz will sport dual front airbags, ABS and EBD while segment first features will include a CVT unit with steering mounted paddle shifters. Cabin is also similar to that of Honda City and is spied with dual-tone black and silver colour scheme

Engine specs on board the 2015 Honda Jazz will include petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine borrowed from the Brio will be a 1.2 liter four cylinder i-VTEC producing 88 PS power and 109 Nm torque which will be mated to a CVT gearbox or a 5 speed manual transmission. A 1.5 liter i-DTEC engine from the Amaze, City and Mobilio will offer 100 PS power and 200 Nm torque, again mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

To be produced at the company’s Tapukara, Rajasthan plant, localization levels for new Jazz are over 90%. This allow the company to keep price of new Jazz competitive.

Slated to come in a price range between INR 5.5-7.5 lakhs, the new Honda Jazz will compete with the likes of new Volkswagen Polo, Tata Bolt, Fiat Punto Evo, Maruti Swift and Hyundai Elite i20.
