Lambretta has showcased three new scooters at 2017 EICMA Show. Lambretta’s V50 Special, V125 Special and V200 Special are steel bodied scooters which are based on the same platform with each of them sporting a four stroke engine. The scooters are set to enter production later this year with launch in Europe markets by March 2018. The company also plans distribution in 50 global markets with India to receive these models sometime in 2019.
Lambretta has teamed up with Austrian design studio KISKA for the design and development of V50 Special, V125 Special and V200 Special. Showcased at EICMA, the scooters will receive different engine capacities and each will be offered in two variants – Fixed and Flex fender.
Lambretta’s V50 Special, V125 Special and V200 Special will be of similar dimensions. The smallest V50 Special will be powered by a 49.5cc, air cooled, carbureted, single cylinder engine offering 3.5 hp power at 7,500 rpm and 3.4 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm mated to a CVT. The V125 Special receives a 124.7cc fuel injected engine capable of 10.1 hp at 8,500 rpm and 9.2 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm. Lambretta’s V200 Special gets a 168.9cc engine doing 12.1 hp power at 7,500 rpm and 12.5 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm.
On board equipment includes LED headlamps, LED tail lamps and turn indicators and a 6.5 liter fuel tank. Seat height is at 770 mm and wheelbase measures 1,330mm. The V125 gets a combined braking system as standard and the V200 receives a Bosch ABS unit. 12V charging socket is on offer on each of the three scooters. Each of the models get a steel body with interchangeable side panels, aluminum accents and an overall distinctive Lambretta design.
Pricing of the three new V Special scooters have also been detailed. The three models are set to start at €2,799.00 ($3,246.00/INR 2,10,519) for V50 Special. V125 gets a price tag of € 3,399.00 ($3,942.00/INR 2,55,875) and V200 Special is at the top of the list with prices at € 3,999.00 ($4,638.00/INR 3,00,797).
