Spied again, the new generation Mahindra Scorpio facelift will continue with the brand’s fan-grille theme, accompanied by dominant new headlamps in the front. Beyond usual facelift operation, new M&M Scorpio is expected to get new bonnet, fenders, doors and roof with athletic body lines, improving the way Scorpio usually threatens on road.
Interiors of Scorpio facelift, will more or less remain same as it is seen in current Scorpio. Centre console of new Scorpio gets large touchscreen infotainment system which includes navigation and reverse camera display facility. Automatic Climate Control feature is offered; air conditioner vents are rectangular and given chrome bordering.
The things to remain same – Instrument cluster sporting modish speedo and tachometer dials and new LCD Multi Information Display (MID) in between. Steering wheel with embedded audio and call controls. Power window buttons located on driver side door panel. Utility factor is raised with new twin-glove box in soon-to-launch Mahindra Scorpio facelift.
Engine of outgoing Scorpio will be used in revamped model, which is the 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged diesel mill generating 120 bhp max. power and 290 Nm peak torque. But as per new reports, Mahindra is working on tuning this engine to deliver 140 hp with the facelift variant.
Another highlight of new gen Scorpio is the all new body-on-frame chassis. This is next generation lightweight ladder frame design to be produced by hydroforming technology to augment stiffness of the unit. This results in lower centre of gravity, eliminating poor dynamics and handling capability Scorpio used to be known for. Expect better ride and handling competence in Mahindra Scorpio facelift.
Mahindra has revealed that the launch of the updated Scorpio will take place this year. Expect the car to hit the market by Diwali 2017.
