Maruti Ertiga walkaround video of top variant – Reveals the MPV in detail before launch

2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV will launch in India on 21st November 2018. Bookings have opened online as well as offline. The new Maruti Ertiga will boast of a revised exterior design. It will get a chrome studded front grille, wrap around projector headlamps, 3D tail lamps and new bumper designs.

Being positioned on a Heartect platform, as is also seen on the Maruti Swift and DZire, this platform is lighter but sturdier due to the use of high tensile but light weight steel. The new Ertiga also grows in dimensions both where length and width are concerned, though wheelbase is the same as that seen on its earlier counterpart.

The three row interiors are seen with captain seating for driver and co-passenger while other seating is in a bench style. Exterior color options will include a new Auburn Red along with Magma Grey, Oxford Blue, Arctic White and Silky Silver.

Interior updates include reclining seating, roof mounted AC vents at the rear, faux wood inserts on dashboard, and a 7” infotainment system offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Maruti Ertiga will get a long list of safety features among which are automatic climate controls, push button start/stop, reverse camera and with rear parking sensors, keyless entry and ISOFIX child seat mounts along which dual airbags and ABS so as to comply with new safety norms coming into effect. The video details the engine lineup. To be seen on the new Ertiga with a new K5 petrol engine. This 1.5 liter petrol engine will offer 104 bhp power and 138 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic gearbox. The 1.3 liter diesel engine is the same as seen on its earlier model. Outputs also remain the same at 89 bhp power and 200 Nm torque while both these engines get SHVS mild hybrid system.

These are micro hybrids and not full hybrids which mean that they will not function independently but assist the engine during acceleration. The Ertiga is already on sale in Indonesian markets where fuel consumption is rated at 18 kmpl for manual and 16.7 kmpl for automatic. Diesel mileage is expected to be over 25 kmpl. Prices could start from Rs 6.5 lakhs and go all the way to Rs 10 lakhs for top end diesel. Once launched, it will rival Honda BRV, Renault Lodgy, Mahindra Marazzo.
