New Maruti WagonR front, rear, side, interior, AMT photos – Official

New Maruti Suzuki WagonR is now open for bookings at a down payment of Rs 11,000. It is to be launched in India on January 23 with deliveries to commence on the same date. The new WagonR will be presented in three variants of L, V and Z and in six color options of blue, brown, grey, orange, silver and white.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR will receive several updates as compared to its earlier variant and a host of new safety features. Positioned on the same platform as the Ignis and Swift, the WagonR will boast of a new design language, wider stance, spacious interiors, best in class boot space along with a new engine lineup.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR will now measure 3,655mm in length, 1,620mm in width and 1,675mm in height while wheelbase will measure 2,435mm along with ground clearance of 170mm. Weight has also been reduced 65 kgs, due to the fact that the 2019 WagonR is based on a Heartect platform. Same platform which forms the basis of new Maruti cars like Dzire, Swift, Ignis and Baleno.

The exteriors get a new front fascia, bumper design and chrome grille along with redesigned fog lamps. It also gets a floating roofline, vertically stacked tail lamps and rear windscreen with rear washer and wiper, which will only be limited to the top end variant.

Interiors of the new WagonR will also sport better equipment while space will be at a premium. It will get steering mounted controls, Maruti’s SmartPlay 7.0” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all four power windows. To comply with new safety regulations, the WagonR will get dual airbags, ABS and EBD as standard besides seat belt reminder, speed alert system and rear parking sensors.

The new WagonR will receive two engine options. The 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder, K10B engine will offer 67 bhp power and 90 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and AMT while the 1.2 liter, 4 cylinder engine will give out 89 bhp power and 113 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual and AMT. This larger engine also does duty on the Swift, Dzire, Baleno, and Ignis.

New pricing, higher than that of the outgoing WagonR, is expected due to these enhanced features and new engine lineup. Though no definite price details have been revealed as on date, prices from Rs.4.5-6 lakhs is what one can expect on the new WagonR. It will rival the recently launched Hyundai Santro, Datsun GO, Renault Kwid and Tata Tiago.
