New Nissan Sunny prices slashed by up to INR 1.96 lakh in India

Nissan Sunny MY2017 was launched earlier this year. The prices have now been slashed by upto INR 1.96 lakh.

First launched in 2014 in India, the Sunny sedan received an update earlier this year. 2017 Nissan Sunny receives slight makeover that makes it look more premium and belligerent. It is this same model whose prices has been slashed by as much as INR 1.96 lakh.

Exterior features include new exterior Sandstone Brown colour, redesigned front grille, larger headlamps (Teana like), tweaked front & rear bumpers, chrome trim near fog lamps, chin section and trunk lid, new Y-shaped alloy wheels with 12-spokes and newly shaped wing mirrors with embedded turn indicators.

Interiors differ from older Sunny sedan with new chrome finished door handles, piano black centre console trim, 5.1 music system sharing reversing camera display, touched up gear shift knob (Manual Transmission), new steering wheel design with audio controls on left spoke, leather upholstery & steering wheel wrap, reading lights for rear passengers (total 4), fine vision meter with MID (instrument console), black interior and seat fabric, and newly-added chrome door handles.

Variants & Engine

Spread across 7 variants, new Nissan Sunny comes with re-tuned ECU for better fuel efficiency. Mileage as claimed by Nissan for manual transmission diesel variant is 22.71 kmpl, for petrol is 16.95 kmpl and for CVT automatic petrol model is 17.97 kmpl. Overall Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) levels are noticeably improved as well. It is easily a better chauffeur driven car in the C segment.

Nissan Sunny facelift hides a K9K dCi 1.5 litre diesel engine with 4 cylinders, 8 valves, Single Over Head Camshaft (SOHC), turbocharger, intercooler and common rail direct fuel injection. Maximum power produced is 86 PS at 3,750 rpm and peak torque is 200 Nm at 2,000 rpm. Diesel variant comes with 5 speed manual transmission only.

Petrol powered Sunny gets 5 speed manual gearbox and an automatic variant with CVT (Continuously Varying Transmission). Sunny petrol is pushed by HR15 naturally aspirated engine with 4 cylinders, 16 vales, electronic fuel injection control and Dual Over Head Camshaft (DOHC). Max. power is 99 PS at 6,000 rpm for MT variant and 101 PS at 5,600 rpm for CVT auto model. Peak torque is 134 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
