2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 has been launched in India at Rs 1,00,212, ex-sh Delhi. At this price, 2019 Gixxer 155 is about Rs 10k more than the outgoing model. The increased pricing makes sense, as new Gixxer 155 gets a range of feature updates.
New Gixxer 155 looks a lot more enticing with its new edgy headlamp that comes with LED lights. Fuel tank gets a sculpted look and engine shrouds are now larger, which improve the bike’s muscular profile. Other key features include sporty graphics, split seats, dual grab handles, stylish LED tail lamp and sporty twin canister exhaust.
Mr. Koichiro Hirao, Company Head, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The new Suzuki GIXXER is built keeping in mind a dynamic rider seeking exhilaration and power with each ride. We are excited to continuously build our motorcycle portfolio, aiming to increase our market share in the segment. Instrument cluster has also been updated and it now comes with white back light. Existing models have orange backlit instrument cluster. New instrument cluster also displays more information than the earlier unit. New Gixxer 155 runs on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 100/80R-17 front and 140/60R-17 rear tyres. Fuel tank capacity is 12 litres.
Suspension system comprises standard telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. Braking duties are performed by disk brakes at both ends. While dual-channel ABS would have been better, Suzuki is offering single channel ABS with new Gixxer 155. This will help keep costs in check, so that the bike can effectively compete with rivals such as TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZ V3.0, Honda CB Hornet 160R and Bajaj Pulsar 160NS.
Power and torque output will be same as earlier. The 154.9 cc single-cylinder engine generates max power of 14 hp @ 8,000 rpm and max torque of 14 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. Engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. This engine is also used on Gixxer SF 155.
