New Triumph Tiger 800 XC and XR makes global debut at 2017 EICMA

Triumph Tiger 800 XC and XR have made global debut at the ongoing 2017 EICMA Show being held at Milan, Italy from November 7-12, 2017. Both these adventure motorcycles claim engine upgrades with better riding dynamics and comfort than their earlier counterparts. Triumph states that there are over 200 upgrades to chassis and engine to be seen on the new 800 XC and XR, all of which will ensure that these two models immediately appeal to buyers seeking some off road action.

Technical upgrades on the Triumph Tiger 800 XC and XR include full 5” TFT display, 6 riding modes, Brembo front brakes, suspension configurations, handlebar mounted backlit switches, LED lighting and enhanced cruise control. There is also a five step adjustable windscreen that is better positioned.

A better chassis and engine block allows for better off roading driving and better balance. A new exhaust muffler with improved sound, triple engine block for quicker response, shorter first gear for better off road traction and good acceleration at lower speeds is also seen on the new Triumph Tiger 800 XC and XR which is seen in new colors with badges, graphics and sporty detailing.

In terms of technology and safety features, the Tiger 800 gets ABS, traction control, electronic throttle control, cruise control and heated saddles and handles. It also gets adjustable seat heights at 810 and 830mm on the XR variants and at 840 to 860mm on the XC models.

Tiger 800 is powered by an 800cc, three cylinder engine offering electronic throttle control. The engine receives internal modifications to offer peak power of 95 hp. The silencer is lighter and emits a different exhaust sound. More engine specifications will be revealed in due course.
