Showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, TVS Graphite concept is heading into production. It has now been launched as Ntorq 125, and is priced from Rs 58,750, ex-showroom.
Highlights include fully digital instrument console with GPS, LED turn indicators, fuel tank lid at the rear, petal disc brakes, telescopic front forks, 12 inch alloys, throaty exhaust note (unlike any other scooter we have seen), comfortable seating, grab rails for pillion, etc.
Power comes from a 125 cc single cylinder engine which delivers 9.4PS @ 7500 rpm and 10.5Nm @ 5500rpm. Dimensions stand at 1865 x 710 x 1160 mm (L x W x H), wheelbase is at 1285 mm, ground clearance at 155 mm while kerb weight is at 116.1 kg. Four colour options are on offer – Matte Red, Matte Green, Matte White and Matte Red.
Just like the concept, the production ready variant is also inspired by stealth military aircraft’s engineering. It gets an under bone frame with high tensile steel resulting in better stability. Suspension includes 30mm telescopic suspension setup at the front and gas charged damper at the rear. Brakes are 220 mm front disc and drum brakes are seen at the rear. Smart lines, split grab rail and a sleek headlamp are also among some of the features.
Front gets 100/80 R12 tubeless tyre while rear gets 110/80 R12 tubeless tyre. It has a 5 liter fuel tank. The instrument console is fully digital and supports vehicle data and connectivity (very much like the new KTM Duke 390). TVS calls that SmartXonnect. ABS is not on offer. Top speed is 95 kmph. It also has an engine kill switch.
