Available in a less powerful 70 cc variant previously, TVS has now launched an updated variant of the same. New TVS XL 100 is now available across Tamil Nadu for a starting price of INR 29,539, ex-showroom. In Uttar Pradesh, where the moped was launched last October, it is priced from INR INR 29,198, ex-showroom.
Powered by an improved and updated four stroke 99.7 cc single cylinder petrol engine, which is rated at 4.2 PS @ 6,000 rpm and 6.3 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. Mated to a single speed transmission via wet type clutch, top speed claimed is 60 kmph while mileage claimed is 67 kmpl.
Featuring a strong telescopic fork in the front, new TVS XL 100 gets 80 mm drum brake in the front and 110 mm drum brake at the rear. The spoked 16 inch wheels are wrapped around 2.5 x 16 inch tyres which support the 75 kg kerb weight and payload of up to 130 kg.
Other features include swing ar with hydraulic shocks, four liter fuel tank with 1.3 liter reserce, turn indicators, taillight, halogen headlamp, and a wider storage platform.
