2019 Nissan Kicks has been launched in India and enters the highly competitive compact SUV segment. Price starts from Rs 9.55 lakhs for the base petrol variant. What is even more surprising is that with the Kicks, Nissan is offering 3 years warranty, 3 years RSA free with all variants.
Nissan Kicks in India is bigger in dimensions as compared to its international spec model. The new Kicks is presented in four variants of XL, XV, XV Pre and XV Pre Option. It comes in seven color options and four dual-tone combinations, taking the total count to 11.
New Nissan Kicks is based on the B0 platform as seen on other Renault Nissan compact SUVs in India. It boasts of a high set bonnet, V motion grille flanked by unswept headlamps and blacked out auto LED projector lamps along with LED DRLs. It also gets a faux skid plate and rectangular fog lamps for cornering functions.
Nissan Kicks gets boomerang shaped tail lamps at the rear, sits on twin spoke 17” machine cut wheels fitted with 215/60 cross section tyres and gets flared wheel arches with black cladding to enhance its SUV stance. Nissan Kicks in India, bigger than its European counterpart measures 4,295mm in length, 1,760mm in width and 1,590mm in height. It gets high ground clearance at 210mm is the highest in its segment while boot space is at 400 liters.
Color options include single color schemes of Aspen White, Brilliant Silver, Gun Metal Grey, Monarch Orange, Deep Blue Pearl, Super Black and Cayenne Red and dual shades of Aspen White with Monarch Orange Roof, Aspen White with Super Black Roof, Gun Metal Grey with Monarch Orange Roof and Cayenne Red and Super Black Roof.

Interiors of the new Nissan Kicks get features as per variants. The base XL variant receives dual airbags, ABS with EBD, climate control, manual IRVMs and speed / impact sensing door locks besides rear defogger and parking sensors. It is also seen with 6 way adjustable seats, front armrest, tilt steering and all four power windows. In terms of infotainment, the base variant gets a 2 DIN audio system with MP3, AUX and Bluetooth along with CD player with front and rear speakers and Nissan Connect telematics.
Features on the top of the line XV Pre Option includes keyless entry, leather upholstery, rain sensing wipers, keyless entry, push button start/stop function, leather upholstery and 360 degree parking camera. It is seen with an 8” floating touchscreen infotainment system with is the largest in its segment, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while in terms of safety it gets a total of 4 airbags, hill start assist and vehicle dynamics control.
Nissan Kicks is powered by a 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 106 PS power and 142 Nm torque and a 1.5 liter diesel engine making 110 PS power and 240 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. ARAI claims fuel efficiency at 14.23 kmpl for the petrol engine going up to 20.45/19.36 kmpl for the diesel engine depending on variant. The Nissan Kicks will contend with the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur.
